What Is Axie Infinity (AXS)?

This is a battling and trading game that’s based on blockchain. It is partly operated and owned by the players.

It got its inspiration from famous games such as Tamagotchi and Pokémo, and it allows players to get, breed, battle, raise, and trade token-based beings called Axies.

The Axies will be able to take several forms, and they’ve got over 500 body parts present, which includes plant, aquatic, reptile, bug, bird, and beast parts. Parts from every type of class arrive in 4 distinct rarity scales: legendary, ultra-rare, rare, and common. Axies can have the combo of body parts they want, which makes them very variable and most unique and rare.

Every Axie is an NFT (non-fungible token) with their different strengths and attributes and can join 3 vs 3 battles, where the winning team will earn more exp (experience) points that can be used to level up the stats of an Axie or evolve the parts of their body. Players can breed the Axies together to create unique and new offspring that can then be used or even sold on the marketplace.

The ecosystem of Axie Infinity also has its distinct governance token called (AXS) Axie Infinity Shards. They use this in participating in important governance votes and are going to allow holders to have a say in the way they spend funds in the Axie Community Treasury.

Who Found Axie?

Skye Mavis created Axie Infinity in 2018. He is a game developer focused on technology that has a team basically located in Vietnam. Aleksander Larsen and Trung Nguyen co-founded it.

The present CEO of this platform is Trung Nguyen. Nguyen is a computer software engineering graduate who worked at Anduin Transactions as a software engineer before he founded Axie Infinity.

Aleksander Larsen, who is a former competitive gamer, also got credits as the COO and co-founder of the platform. Aleksander has been working in the blockchain gaming industry since 2017. Previously, he worked for the Norwegian Government Security Organization as an executive security officer and is still Blockchain Game Alliance’s Board of Directors Secretary.

What are the unique features of Axie Infinity?

In every Axie, there are 6 out of hundreds of different possible body parts. Every one of them has their battle moves. With this, there is basically limitless uniqueness among Axies, and almost all Axies have relatively weak stats, while the ones that have the strongest body combination can have top-notch statistics.

Unlike a couple of other breeding and battling games based on blockchain, every Axie will only be able to breed a total of 7 times to assist in controlling the Axies population.

There’s a unique mating hub in Axie Infinity so players can get the best match to breed the Axie with, so their chance of creating a powerful or rare offspring will be high. If you want to breed Axies, you’ll need to pay ETH 0.005 alongside SLP (Small Love Potion).

Security of Axie Infinity Network

The AXS token is launched on the blockchain of Ethereum, which makes it an ERC-20 token. Because of that, it’s secured by the POW (proof-of-work) consensus mechanism of Ethereum.

Axie plans to move its NFT tokens from the Loom Network to Ronin.

Ronin is a custom-built sidechain created specifically for Axie infinity. It is built on Ethereum and created by Sky Mavis. Sky Mavis is the development firm that created the Axie Infinity game. It is crafted to support nearly immediate transaction confirmations, decreased gas fees, and has the ability to help Axie Infinity scale.

Where to Purchase AXS?

Axie Infinity has been listed on several cryptocurrency exchanges. It’s quite different from other main cryptos as nobody can directly purchase it with fiat currency. Nevertheless, you’ll still be able to buy this coin easily when you first buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, or USDT from large exchanges, then transfer the money to any exchange that allows trading of the coin.
